I love graphic design.  I hope you learn to appreciate it through this unit.

This is the video we’ll watch in class:

If you are interested in graphic design, this is another video I found by a graphic design student from Portugal, which I think is kind of cool:

I’m excited to start this unit with grade 7 this year.  It’s a great hands-on unit that yields many great products and a fun project for new students to embark on as they learn about the design cycle.

MYP Design Cycle (1)

Today will start talking about upcycling and I want to you start thinking about materials that are in excess in your homes. You are not allowed to buy anything for this project!  I will provide adhesives and tools for you to create with.

Another really important part of being a designer is creating authentic products for a client.  We’ll talk about this extensively in the coming weeks.

Here are the videos I’ll show in class today:

What Will You Create This Year?

Welcome Back!

I hope you had a fantastic summer.  I did and I’m ready now to start designing & creating great things with you.

I can’t wait to see all of you again and meet all the new students.

I wanted to share some of my favorite shots from the summer.  Please do the same and share some of your photos on your blogs.  Tell us all about what you did.

See you soon!
